Open access workflow

How to submit your article for open access publishing

The following instructions for authors have been provided by the publisher. Further details are available on the publisher’s website.

Step-by-step guide to authors publishing papers:
Author would either submit their paper on our platform at https://asmedigitalcollection.asme.org/ under any of our 33 journals, there is a tab entitled “Submit paper”.  They can also submit their paper on our website at https://asme.org/publications-submissions/journals/information-for-authors.  There is a hyperlink called “Submit paper”.  Either way, they will be brought to our Journal Tool, called Journal Connect and they would log in or create a new account (if a paper has never been submitted through ASME) using their University domain that was given to ASME.  This email will be used to track their paper (and record both submitted and published papers) throughout the process.  Once logged into Journal Connect, they would follow the screens that I have attached; selecting the journal they wish to publish their paper in, and all of the information that is needed for this.  Once their paper is accepted, they will log back into Journal Connect and choose the option “Yes, my Institution has an OA Agreement”.  Every participant in this model is now listed on the Journal Tool, so authors will clearly see their institution participates.
